The story begins...
This my first official "Blog". We'll see how well I keep up with it.
I have been in Washington for almost 2 months now and it has been very interesting so far. The first clue I had that this would be an adventure was when I locked myself out of the house my second day here. The worst part of that was that I only know about 3 people here and couldn't call them because their numbers were stored in my phone, which was on the table in the house. To make a long story short I ended up climbing through the back window using a ladder, praying the whole time that the neighbors didn't call the cops because the person I am renting a room from was out of the country.
I am working for a local trucking company in Portland, OR and I do have to say it is very different from anything I have ever done before. I am quickly learning about all of the parts that make up a "big-rig" and dealing with dealers. So far, I have really enjoyed working there and I even got to go inside a truck the other day. :-)
I also work part-time for a church here called Northwest Christian Church. That is actually the reason I moved up here. I have never been part of a church plant before, but I have already grown so much in the short time I have been here. When you are part of church plant you truly learn to rely on God for everything. I feel so blessed to be a part of what God is doing in the Northwest. The pastor and his wife have been great to me. They have made me feel like a part of their family and their daughter even calls me "sister".
Well, I think that is about it this time.
